Sound of Music to Sound of Healing St. Paul Music Therapy Center

 

In1966 Father James Reuter directed THE SOUND OF MUSIC at the Fleur-de-Lis Auditorium in St. Paul College of Manila.  It was one of many Broadway musicals St. Paul produced in the 1960s at the landmark Fleur-de-Lis Auditorium in Manila.  Tommy Abuel along with June Keithley graced the moors in BRIGADOON, Celeste Legaspi floated on Old Man River in SHOWBOAT and a bevy of Paulinians including Cecile Santos made up the brood of 13 DAUGHTERS.   Music is St. Paul’s gift to Paulinians, Manila and the country!

 

St. Paul Manila Alumnae USA seeks to reinforce Father Reuter’s legacy by supporting the SPUM’s Music Therapy Center through the Alumnae’s Fleur-de-Lis Fund.  The FIRST in the Philippines, the Music Therapy Center in the St. Paul University Manila campus provides music therapy services to children and youth with disabilities.  It is a venue for the practicum of the graduate students in music therapy and for helping people with debilities have a better quality of life.  The mission of the Music Therapy Center is to promote, empower and serve families, professionals, adults, youth and children with special needs employing music therapy strategies. ...Read More
