Flor Siazon and Maribel Kemp sent us photos of their 15th annual reunion of Class 68.  They met up in Chicago and had a road trip to Wisconsin last August.  A dozen Paulinians and guests enjoyed a week long reunion at the time share of Dr. Joy Ruiz (which she has provided for 12 years timeshares in different states).  Attendees include Marissa Acuna, Tet Alcid, Lou San Juan Constantino, Jazz Gaite, Lulu Hernandez Reyes, Maribel Kemp, Trini Ochoa-Francisco, Evelyn Rucker, Dr. Joy Ruiz, Odette San, Cecilia Sevilla Santos, Flor Siazon and Teoffy Taganas.

 

“We visited the [shrine of the] first apparition of our lady in the US,” said Flor, “and the only one recognized by the Vatican, Our Lady of Good Help.”

 

In addition to visiting other churches in the Wisconsin area, they enjoy the sites, good dining, wine tasting, cheese tasting and “praying and singing”.  Flor also reflected on the occasion for them to bond and reminisce happy times in grade school and high school at St. Paul.  Their next reunion will be in September 2016 in New Hampshire.  “Fun and laughter” reign!

 

Maritess in NYC! A few classmates met up with Maritess and Gabby Panlilio few times in the Big Apple including Patsy, Beibi, Marilyn and even Sylvia Lavadia Javier. Maritess and Gabby also visited Bea Valdes, Gabby's niece, whose designs were featured in connection with the Philippine Gold Exhibition at Asia Society.

Beibi Enjoys Big Apple

 

Beibi Garcia Bautista enjoys the Big Apple.  Marilyn and Marilyn met up to share the love for St. Paul!  With sis-in-law Rebecca Baron, Beibi helped kick off our Father Reuter Theatre Series watching the King & I at Lincoln Center. Meeting up with a few classmates, Patsy, Maripaz, Nina, Marilyn and even sister Girlie Marian Garcia Calderon and Patsy's sis Mini Vitug and Rebecca, to enjoy the seaside town of Freemont, Long Island, NY.  Shopping at Good Neighbor Queens, founded by Katrina Schultz Richter (Patsy's daughter) and Tonice Sgrignole, her bags are full! She closed her visit by attending with Moppy and Grace Labaguis (Maryknoll & GMA Network)  Bandastiks, a band competition featuring alumni from Assumption, La Salle, Ateneo and Silliman Universities.  

Dinggay Celebrates in Virginia

 

There were so many Paulinians who congregated in Arlington, Virginia at the Paulinian Global Foundation's Benefit Dinner for St. Paul's Vigil House.  Many Paulinians flew from near and far to this major event to meet up friends and family and support the Vigil House including LourdesTeresa Dinggay La O from Manila!  Not too long ago, Paulinians in Virginia and friends celebrated Dinggay’s special day.  Celebrating with her were Rica, Claire, April, Giselle, Cecile, Jackie Malvaiz. Bambi Manalang, Jane Singson Fields and Virna Lisa Loberiza (VP of Paulinian Global Foundation).  How lucky!  Singing voices of Paulinians and three Birthday Cakes! 

Rose Blooms in the City

 

Rose Marie Montano, our newest Alumnae member, recently visited New York.  It was very very good to meeting up with classmates and friends, including Flor Siazon and Trinidad Ocha Francisco and moi!  Her sis Patsy was the best guidemeister around town from the Phantom on Broadway to the UN to shopping, favorite sites and of course family!  It was wonderful to see you Rose!

Class 68 12th US Reunion

 

Patsy Santiago Schultz met up with Elizabeth Cruz Bensa in Vienna, Austria in Sept.  They admired the Austrian crystal at J.L. Lobmeyr in Kamenicky Senov who provided crystal chandeliers not only to the Schonbrunn Palace, the imperial summer residence of the Habsburgs, but also the Metropolitan Opera House at Lincoln Center in NYC!   Patsy and Beth at the marble staircase of the Neo Renaissance sVienna State Opera House.  Sonie from NY with Beth and Patsy enjoying the Viennese coffee house culture with sweet pastries and coffee on a marble top table.  Are these Paulinian mermaids at the Neptune Fountain outside the Hofburg Palace.

Paulinians on the Potomac

It was indeed a gastronomical experience in Maryland with Louie Atienza Naing in November.  Winnie Abaya Morgan, Maripaz Calero, Patsy Santiago Schultz and Marilyn Abalos visited Louie for a long weekend of Fall colors, fine dining, festive gourmet treats!  From The Congressional Country Club to Cafe Milano to Mon Ami Gabi.  Dreaming of DC Cupcakes!  Oh and then there's prayers and wishes at Our Lady of Mercy Church!
