HOMECOMING SA KONSULADO
St. Paul was among the 17 Philippine universities and school alumni associations at the the Homecoming sa Konsulado at the Philippine Center in New York City. Over 180 participants met up and celebrated the Homecoming. A good number of Paulinians from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virginia attended. Not only was the day fun and games but several speakers were also presented to talk about relevant platforms including academic studies in the US, AIDS crisis in the Philippines, voters registration, and Ma-Yi Theatre Company as well as the Philippine Gold Exhibition at Asia Society.
SPMA USA hosted a table where info about the alumnae as well as Paulinian Global Foundation was shared at the event. Pauline the Doll and Fluer-de-Lis cookies were available.
To cap the day’s activities, raffle prizes were awarded to lucky participants. Maria Guia San Jose of St. Paul College QC won the day’s grand prize of a round-trip ticket to the Philippines given by Philippine Airlines. Rissa Hidalgo of Assumption College drew the lucky ticket for the Apple Watch, donated by her fellow Assumption alumnus Niñez Arreglado.
Board member Maripaz Calero said, “It was an experience – heartwarming. I felt so welcomed! I enjoyed it truly. I have networked with other members. That’s how you connect! It was fun.”
The participating alumni associations of HSK 2015 were Adamson University, Assumption College, Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University, Holy Spirit, Maryknoll College, Mindanao State University (MSU), San Beda College, Silliman University, Paaralan sa Konsulado (PSK), Philippine Women's University (PWU), St. Paul University Manila and QC, University of the Philippines Alumni Association (UPAA-National), University of the Philippines – NJ, University of the Philippines – NY, University of the Philippines Nurses of the East Coast (UPNEC) and University of Santo Tomas (UST).
