What do successful homemakers, a nurse, a public servant, a corporate executive, a United Nations officer, an accountant, and an accomplished journalist have in common?  A weekend in Virginia Beach and what a blast they had!

The group composed of Class of 1969 members Marilyn Abalos, Consuelo Baretto Babula, Beibi Garcia Bautista, Neiva Quezon Burdick, Maripaz Calero, Yolanda Galang Quizon, Teresa (Techie) Ignacio Gonzalvo, Winnie Abaya Morgan, and Patsy Santiago Schultz shared stories, jokes, recipes, life stories, love life, and professional experiences, while they enjoyed each other’s company and relive their teenage years at St. Paul’s College Manila.

Techie and her loving, and supportive husband Jim Gonzalvo generously opened their lovely home in Virginia Beach to host the event.  Their home provided a lovely setting for a weekend of wonderful comradeship, and companionship that made for a marvelous and memorable get together.

We enjoyed a delightful weekend organized by Techie and Jim including a tour of College of William and Mary, wine tasting at Williamsburg Winery and Vineyards, Douglas MacArthur Museum, a Hilton Oceanfront  reception, an amazing Norfolk Cruise, a sumptuous Filipino Buffet and an afternoon at Virginia Beach Neptune Festival.  At their lovely home, we were all treated to homemade breakfasts, dinners, and heartwarming welcome bonfire overlooking a lake in their lovely home’s backyard.

Our fleur-de-lis is sort of a flame.  It’s our torch!  We are the fiery comet in the sky over Manila!  From the bonfire of Virginia Beach, we continue to blaze a trail to our St. Paul!  Connect - Community  - Caritas!
